Linnea's Birth

On August 2nd, we checked in at the Boulder Community Hospital (for the second time),

This time we were given a room with a mountain view, so we were pretty sure it was the real thing.

On Sunday August 3, 2008 at 4:26 am, Linnea Elizabeth Niemack was born!

She was 11 days early and weighed in at 6 pounds 12 ounces and 19 inches long.

Mom was thrilled to finally hold Linnea in her arms, and (understandably) completely exhausted.

After some rest, Dad and Linnea got to know each other a little better,

and we kept her nice and cozy in her double swaddling and hat.

So far Linnea has maintained a slight pout almost all the time when she is not crying;

maybe so that we are sure not to think that she's being spoiled in any way.

Later that evening, Linnea's first pair of grandparents came out to visit from Steamboat Springs.

Pat repeatedly cooed her from crying into a very calm state.

That night we got a little more rest, although, much of the time the new parents were ogling and cuddling their new baby when they should have been sleeping.

Monday morning, Grandma Kelly arrived from Hawaii to meet her first grandaughter (and first great grandaughter for Kelly's mother, Ani).

By the afternoon, we were ready to take baby Linnea home,

She was a bit skeptical of her new mode of transportation ...

but accepting.

Great photos! Pix of Linnea's Boulder tour before she was born were very cute, but now that we can see her face, she's won our (visual) hearts.
We're checking hourly for photo updates.
